Hello, hello!
My name is Kyra, and I am so excited to be joining the Abolition Lab team as a lab assistant! I’m a first-year here at Knox majoring in history.
At Knox, I am involved in theatre, ASL club, and book club. My historical interests include industrialization, American responses to global conflicts, and changes in 20th-century American politics. I am also interested in the intersection of disability rights, broader history, and civil rights movements. As a part of the lab, I am excited to engage with the campus community through the humanities! I have a great passion for presenting history, and other humanities, in accessible ways that mean something to a modern audience.
I’m originally from Minnesota where my family and dogs still reside. Outside of school, I spend a lot of time reading, crocheting, and listening to music. My favorite book is The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern and my favorite music tends to come from Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. I am also currently trying to watch my way through reruns of The Muppet Show!
I’m very excited to work with everyone in the lab and on campus moving forward. See you around! 🙂
