Our Spaces
The Abolition Lab has three space open and available for students, staff, and faculty to use: the Abolition Lab – Main Room, the Recording Studio, and the Creative Humanities Corner. Learn more about the spaces below and how to reserve them!
Creative Humanities Corner
The Creative Humanities Corner hosts a library of arts and crafts supplies. All are welcome to use the resources, but please sustainably use what you need for your project. We also welcome and greatly appreciate donations to grow our Creative Humanities Corner! A donation bin is located next to the shelf.
The Abolition Lab – Main Room
The main room of the Abolition Lab is ideal for hosting large gatherings (36 seats), classes, or for small group work. Individuals and small groups are welcome in the lab without making a reservation, but we encourage larger groups (clubs/organizations) to reserve the entire space.
The Recording Studio
The Recording Studio is reservable space for recording oral histories, podcasts, and other audio. The studio is equipped with one USB Yeti Microphone, two pop filter screens, two headphones, and soundproofing foam on the walls. Small groups of 2-3 people can fit comfortably in the studio.
Reserving a Room

The Abolition Lab – Main Room
Individuals and small groups do not need a reservation. We recommend a reservation for groups of 10 or more.
Note: please consult both availability calendars before booking (we try not to overlap to prevent recording noise).
1. Select a time on your calendar to create a new event
2. Navigate to the Add Rooms or Location section
3. Select Rooms, and search Abolition Lab
4. Click Save
5. Your event will be confirmed by lab staff (event will change to a solid color)

The Recording Studio
The Recording Studio is available by appointment. Walk-ins are welcome based on the studio’s availability.
